Black Belt Gradings in Japan, Oct 2013

Eight USKU NZ members travelled to Takanabe town, Miyazaki, Japan for a week of karate – with a primary focus being black belt gradings on Saturday October the 19th.

In front of the grading panel consisting of Fukamizu shihan (USKU 8th dan), Brian Koenig sensei (USKU 6th dan) and Morgan Dilks sensei (USKU 5th dan) USKU NZ members from our Palmerston North dojo graded along side local Japanese students.

The grading took place after a long day of training and seminars – with the positive results a reflection of the hard work of grading specific drills, and the many years of continuous training.

Jenny Nixey is awarded Sandan (third degree black belt) having successfully graded in Miyazaki, Japan.
