Woman’s Self Defense 101
By request we have started conducting self defense classes primarily aimed at giving woman access to ideas and concepts that could help them in a situation where they feel at risk. These are a combination of simple techniques (some with Martial Art’s influence) aimed at increasing the chances of a successful outcome in a self defense situation.
“We learnt many simple and effective
ways of gaining full control of your attacker in different situations.”
The 101 class covers an introduction, concepts around being prepared and awareness and avoidance, basic strikes and targets and techniques for managing a variety of grabs and holds.
Nothing is guaranteed as all situations and circumstances are different – however the more you know the better the potential outcome.
“I would just like to say that the class we had was amazing, I felt like I have a little under my belt If I got in a difficult situation…I would definitely be interested in learning more.”
Classes are conducted by Morgan Dilks (4th Dan Shotokan Karate) and Jenny Nixey (1st Dan Shotokan Karate, 1st Dan Shutokai Karate).
